CIDI engages stakeholders about KCCA’s strategic plan for next year

Community Integrated Development Initiative (CIDI), a local NGO has met and engaged with various stakeholders in Nakawa division about KCCA’s strategic plan for the forthcoming year 2021/22.

The meeting also attended by the Nakawa division mayor, Ronald Nsubuga Balimwezo and deputy Resident City Commissioner, Herbert Anderson Burora as they led the various stakeholders in the various programs that government will focus on for implementation and achieving in the National Development Plan III.

“This is part of the different stakeholders’ meeting we are to have, aimed at supporting KCCA’s planning strategy. This is meant to identify where the need is and not where government feels it should invest. People should be in position to give direction on where they feel should invest,” said Hellen Kasujja Nakabuye, the deputy Executive Director for CIDI.

Nakabuye explained that as partners, in the past, many stakeholders have complained of being left out why drafting the strategic plan for the city, noting that with such engagements, everyone will be brought on board.

“I want to appreciate KCCA for beginning to do things differently by consulting the various stakeholders unlike before when planning begun from the top to the bottom and many have not supported the various strategies that government wants to put in place.”

She explained resolutions from such stakeholders engagements will form part of KCCA’s strategic plan for the financial year 2021/22.

According to the Nakawa Mayor, Ronald Nsubuga Balimwezo, with such engagements, implementation of the strategic plan  will be easy since all stakeholders are involved in its formulation.

“A strategic plan help the division outlines its goals and priorities. Such meetings will be of great benefit to us as the division because key stakeholders will have been consulted on what they need,”Balimwezo said.
