The Electoral commission has extended the period for voter update registration exercise for five more days .
This means the voter registration exercise which was supposed to end on December 11 will now end on December 16, 2019.
The chairperson of Election Commission Justice Simon Byabakama said the commission had extended the deadline for the exercise due to high number of applicants at the update centers.
Byabakama said there will not be any more extension of the exercise.
"The five days extension is the last extension. we will not extend another time."
The commission also warned the officers carrying out the exercise to desist from any act of extorting money from the applicants saying that the act may frustrate the applicants from exercising their constitutional righ.
