Pride Bank Pledges Greater Support for Uganda’s Economic Transformation

Pride Bank Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Uganda’s socio-economic transformation through inclusive financial services, digital innovation, and strategic partnerships during a stakeholder engagement meeting with officials from the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development.

The engagement brought together officials from the ministry and the bank’s leadership to review Pride Bank’s performance, discuss its strategic direction, and strengthen collaboration in advancing financial inclusion across the country.

Speaking during the meeting, the Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Henry Musasizi, commended the institution for its growth and contribution to expanding access to financial services.

“I congratulate Pride Bank for the tremendous progress it has made over the years. As the financial sector continues to evolve, digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence represent the future, and I encourage the bank to invest in these technologies to enhance efficiency, improve customer experience and deepen financial inclusion,” Musasizi said.

“We also want to see Ugandans accessing affordable credit at favourable interest rates to support business growth and wealth creation. As government, we remain committed to supporting the bank and working closely with its leadership to ensure it continues to thrive.”

The meeting highlighted the growing role of financial institutions in supporting Uganda’s development agenda through expanded access to financial services and technology-driven solutions.

Officials emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between government and the private sector to strengthen the country’s financial sector and drive sustainable economic growth.
