Bukiise Sub-county, one of the most densely populated areas in Sironko District, has faced increasing pressure on existing water points, forcing residents to walk long distances in search of water.

According to local leaders, the new boreholes will help reduce congestion at existing water sources while improving sanitation and hygiene standards in the community.

"This intervention comes at the right time. Our people have endured years of water shortages, and these boreholes will significantly improve their daily lives," a local leader said during the launch.

Residents expressed optimism that the project would ease the burden of water collection, particularly for women and children who often spend several hours each day searching for water.
