The latest contribution continues a growing campaign by the businessman to strengthen grassroots and elite football in his native Ankole region, where he has repeatedly said sport can provide young people with opportunities for employment, personal development and professional careers.
The cash donation comes as Mbarara City intensifies preparations for the new Uganda Premier League season following its return to the top flight.
The club earned promotion after winning the 2024/25 FUFA Big League, bouncing back immediately after relegation from the Uganda Premier League at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.
Last season, the Ankole Lions battled throughout the campaign before securing survival with 26 points, finishing 12th in the 16-team league ahead of the relegated trio of Buhimba United Saints, Calvary and UPDF.
The Shs10 million was officially delivered to the club's leadership at its Mbarara base on Friday by Valentine Muhereza, popularly known as Kachaina, the country coordinator for Uncle T's business interests.
While handing over the donation, Muhereza said the businessman remains committed to uplifting regional sports and empowering young people through football.
"Uncle T's vision is to see our local clubs become absolute powerhouses of sports talent in the region. This donation is a direct investment in the future of our young athletes," Muhereza said.
"We urge the management and players to remain united, work hard, and ensure that these resources are utilised responsibly to elevate their game and attract even bigger opportunities on national stages," he added.
The remarks echoed the message Muhereza delivered last week while handing over Shs11 million to the Rwampara District football team, where he said investment in sport was one of the most effective ways of keeping young people engaged in productive activities while creating pathways to professional opportunities.
He also urged beneficiaries to manage the funds prudently, saying responsible utilisation would encourage even greater support in future.
Mbarara City chairman Twaha Salim welcomed the donation, describing it as timely support for a club facing significant financial demands ahead of the new season.
"We are profoundly grateful to Uncle T for this incredible boost. Running a football club requires immense logistical and financial muscle, and this Shs10 million donation solves some of our most pressing financial hurdles," Salim said.
"It gives our technical team and players the tools to compete effectively, including managing the costs of transporting players, feeding and refreshments. As management, we pledge total transparency in utilising this money, and we promise to bring pride back to Mbarara," he added.
Mbarara City plays its home matches at Kakyeka Stadium and is expected to use the funds to support its operational and logistical requirements as it seeks to establish itself after surviving relegation in its first season back in the top flight.
The latest donation follows Uncle T's contribution to the Rwampara District football team, where district leaders described his support as part of a broader commitment to socio-economic development in the region.
During that handover, Rwampara District Speaker Herbert Tweteise said the businessman was also planning to expand investments in financial services and establish an export products centre to create employment opportunities for young people.
The support for both Rwampara District and Mbarara City has been welcomed by football stakeholders, who say sustained private investment is essential for improving club finances, nurturing talent and strengthening football in western Uganda.
Fans and sports enthusiasts in Mbarara also welcomed the donation, expressing optimism that the financial boost will improve the club's preparations and competitiveness in the upcoming Uganda Premier League season.
