NRM starts collecting evidence to support Kawempe by-election petition in court
Faridah Nambi now says she is coming back for Kawempe-North seat in 2026

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) secretariat, following directives from the Central Executive Committee (CEC) chaired by President Yoweri Museveni has summoned all polling agents of Nambi Faridah from the recently concluded Kawempe North by-election.

This move aims to gather necessary evidence and exhibits to support a court petition challenging the victory of the successful National Unity Platform (NUP) candidate, Erias Nalukoola.

By midday on Monday, all polling agents of Nambi Faridah had convened at the NRM secretariat along Kyadondo Road in Kampala for a closed-door meeting with top party officials.

During the tense meeting, the agents had an opportunity to compare notes with Faridah Nambi  and senior NRM leaders.

The gathering was characterized by frustration, as the agents expressed concerns about alleged irregularities in the electoral process.

“We have everything it takes to present our case before courts of law, and we are here to share with our lawyers,” some of Nambi’s agents, who preferred anonymity, bitterly stated.

Nambi echoed the sentiments, urging the agents to remain truthful.

“Be truthful and present your facts to the party so we can challenge the illegality.”

The NRM National coordinator, Rosemary Sseninde, confirmed  the directive to collect sufficient evidence from the Central Executive Committee (CEC) chaired by President Museveni..

“We cannot allow such illegality to continue. Our instructions from the Central Executive Committee are to gather as much substantial evidence as possible to back up the petition,” Sseninde stated.
