CHAN 2020 qualifiers: Patrick Kaddu shines as Uganda beats helpless Somalia

CHAN 2020 Qualifiers: Uganda 4-1 Somalia( agg 7-2)

Patrick Henry Kaddu was the man of the day as Uganda helplessly beat their counterparts from the horn of Africa- Somalia, at the Startimes Stadium in Lugogo on Saturday.

The KCCA FC striker opened the score only three minutes after kick-off by scoring from a penalty having been brought down in the 18-yard box for the hosts to take the lead.

Youngster Allan Okello found fellow KCCA FC player Allan Kyambadde who made no mistake to put the goal behind the back of the net to make it 2 nil for Uganda.

A few minutes to the end of the first stanza, Allan Kayiwa was fouled in the penalty area for Kaddu to step up for the second time to covert the resultant kick to make it 3nil in favour of the Cranes.

In the second half, Kaddu was at it again scoring off a fellow KCCA FC player Mustapha Kiiza delivery to nod the ball into the net for him to complete his hat trick that ensured Uganda progressed to the next round on a 7-2 aggregate.

The win ensured Uganda progressed to the final qualifying round of the African Nations Champions 2020 to book a date with either Burundi or South Sudan who are yet to play their return leg game in Juba later on Sunday.

Burundi is 2 nil up after the first leg game in Bujumbura.
