Salam TV Managing Director Hajji Karim Kaliisa has joined Ugandan leaders and members of the public in paying tribute to Qatar’s late Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani following his death.

Hajji Karim Kaliisa, the Managing Director of Salam TV and Salam Charity, has paid tribute to the late Father Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, at the Qatar Embassy in Kampala.

The condolence session was held at Kampala Serena Hotel following the death of Sheikh Hamad, who passed away on July 12, 2026, at the age of 74.

Hajji Kaliisa was received by Abdallah Al Jofairi, the Chargé d’Affaires at the Qatar Embassy, who represented Qatar’s Ambassador to Uganda, H.E. Ahmed bin Mohammed Alzowaidi.

During the visit, Hajji Kaliisa signed the condolence book and conveyed his sympathies to the Ambassador, embassy staff, and the people of Qatar.

In his message, he described Sheikh Hamad as a statesman whose leadership and contribution to Qatar and the wider Muslim world would continue to be remembered.

He also prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the late Father Amir, asking that he be forgiven for any shortcomings and granted a place in Jannah.

The Qatar Embassy in Kampala opened the condolence book to allow government officials, institutional leaders, and members of the public to express their condolences following the announcement of Sheikh Hamad’s death.
