The interruption, according to NWSC Tororo Area management, will result from a planned shutdown to allow the corporation’s Static Plant Team to undertake critical works at the High Lift Pump House located in Tororo.
The exercise is part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades intended to strengthen water delivery across the region.
In a public notice issued on Thursday, NWSC Tororo Area Manager George Ongwech said the maintenance is necessary to enhance the efficiency and reliability of the water supply system.
“The interruption will mainly affect Tororo Town, Malaba Branch and the surrounding areas. Our technical team is already on site and working diligently to complete the works as quickly and safely as possible,” Ongwech said.
He assured customers that normal pumping operations and water supply would resume immediately after completion of the works.
The National Water and Sewerage Corporation has advised residents and businesses in the affected areas to use water sparingly and store enough for essential domestic needs during the interruption period.
The corporation also apologised for the inconvenience caused and expressed gratitude to customers for their patience and understanding as the maintenance works are carried out.
The planned shutdown forms part of NWSC’s broader efforts to improve water service delivery and ensure a more reliable supply for consumers in Tororo and surrounding communities.
