UMSC Hosts Munazzamat Al-Dawa Al-Islamiyya Chairman During Official Uganda Visit
The discussions focused on strengthening existing ties and exploring new areas of collaboration in mutual areas of interest. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation and agreed to hold further engagements before the delegation concludes its visit.

The Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) has hosted Ambassador Ali bin Hassan Abdallah Al-Hammad, former Ambassador of Qatar and current Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Munazzamat Al-Dawa Al-Islamiyya, during an official visit aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two institutions.

The meeting took place at the UMSC National Headquarters in Old Kampala, where the Second Deputy Mufti, Sheikh Hafiz Muhammad Harunah Bukenya, received the delegation on behalf of the Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje.

Welcoming the delegation, Sheikh Bukenya described UMSC as the central institution of the Islamic faith in Uganda and briefed the visitors on the council’s governance structure, programmes and ongoing activities.

“We are pleased to welcome you to Uganda and to the headquarters of the Islamic faith in the country,” Sheikh Bukenya said. “UMSC values the long-standing cooperation and partnership that has existed between our two brotherly organisations over the years.”

He also expressed appreciation for the support and collaboration that Munazzamat Al-Dawa Al-Islamiyya has extended to Muslim communities and institutions in Uganda.

Dr El-Gaz, who was part of the delegation, noted that the chairman is undertaking an official visit to Uganda and will tour some of the organisation’s projects in the country.

“The Chairman has come to Uganda on an official visit and will take time to tour some of the projects established by the organisation,” Dr. El-Gaz said during the meeting.

The visit highlights the longstanding relationship between UMSC and Munazzamat Al-Dawa Al-Islamiyya, a Sudan-based international charitable organisation, as both institutions seek to strengthen cooperation in community development and humanitarian initiatives.
