St. John’s Church Kiwatule Holds First-Ever Confirmation Service

St. John’s Church of Uganda, Kiwatule Parish, hosted its first-ever Confirmation Service on Sunday ever since the parish was inaugurated on 13th October 2024, with 44 children receiving the sacrament of confirmation.

The event was presided over by the Retired Bishop of Mukono Diocese, Rt. Rev. James William Ssebagala.

In his sermon, Bishop Ssebagala emphasised the importance of faith, resilience, and perseverance in the face of life’s challenges.

Drawing inspiration from the biblical story of Job, he reminded the congregation that “God upholds the righteous despite the overwhelming challenges that come your way, just as He upheld Job during his trials.”

He continued, “When a challenge comes your way, there comes opportunities, for they put us on a different level. Never despair, for the Lord shall lift you up again. Focus on the Lord in your faith, for in Him, we gain victory.”

Bishop Ssebagala encouraged the children and congregation alike, emphasizing that with faith in Jesus Christ, all things are possible, even in times of weakness.

The Confirmation Service was conducted with the assistance of the Archdeacon of Namugongo Archdeaconry Ven. Canon Michael Wasswa Ssentamu, the Vicar Rev. William Wilberberforce Ssekitoleko and other clergy.

The service marked a significant milestone in the spiritual life of the parish, reflecting its commitment to nurturing the faith of the younger generation.
