Uganda’s journey to transformation continues, and Spotlight UG is back tonight on NBS TV, shining a light on one of the key engines driving national development: electricity.

This week’s episode, themed “Powering Uganda’s Growth: Access, Reliability, and Expansion,” explores how a stronger, more reliable energy sector is fueling Uganda’s progress from lighting homes and powering industries to driving innovation, investment, and economic inclusion.

Viewers will hear from leaders of key institutions shaping Uganda’s energy future, the Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) and the Uganda Energy Credit Capitalisation Company (UEGCCC), as they share insights on the sector’s achievements, ongoing challenges, and the vision for a more connected and reliable energy landscape for all Ugandans.

The high-level roundtable media engagement platform, Spotlight UG, provides a national stage for government ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) to showcase their achievements, priorities, and milestones. The dialogue is televised live on Next Media platforms, including NBS Television for English audiences every Monday from 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM and Sanyuka TV for Luganda viewers from 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM. Coverage will also extend to UBC, BBS Terefayina, and Vision Group’s Bukedde TV, ensuring nationwide broadcast and accessibility.
