Appearing on Sanyuka Morning Xpress, Hon. Mubarak Munyagwa, the self-declared president of the Common Man’s Party, didn’t hold back as he dissected the current political landscape, warning viewers that a quiet revolution is underway.
“You may think nothing is coming out of the tribunal,” he said, “but what you’ll see are only surprises in favour of PLU.” In his view, the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) is not only mobilising silently but is already influencing the shape of Parliament.
According to Munyagwa, Gen Muhoozi has executed what he described as a “surgical operation” on the political establishment. “Gen Muhoozi has 80% of the candidates who won — it’s PLU that won. Parliament is going to be overtaken. The NRM caucus will be full of PLU members,” he predicted.
He also offered insight into the shifting power dynamics, claiming that the day Gen Muhoozi became Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), “he was practically handed the powers of the Commander-in-Chief.”
Munyagwa added that at 48 years old, a general like Muhoozi is far from done with politics: “A general at 48 can’t just stop being political — I knew something was being played.”
Throughout the conversation, Munyagwa warned viewers not to underestimate what’s happening behind the scenes. “This isn’t business as usual,” he said. “It’s a new chapter in Uganda’s political direction, and the common man needs to pay attention.”
