Fanfare as Next Media launches Nxt Radio

The Nxt radio, the first audio and visual radio in Uganda was launched yesterday during a colourful function at Mestil hotel in Kampala.

Guests were treated to an evening of music and drinks.

The radio is part of the Next Media Group which includes NBS TV, Nile Post, Salam TV and Next Communications.

The radio will be accessed via internet and on the frequency mode at 106.1.

Earlier Kin Kariisa the chief executive officer of Next Media said the best team has been trained to offer better services to listeners and viewers.

"Our team has been on training for about two months and we believe they are now set to deliver well on this online radio and we shall offer them support," Kariisa said.

The managers of the radio station called upon Ugandans to tune in to the radio, the first of its kind in Uganda.

Rogers Baguma, the board chairman of Next Media, said the new, classy radio station is in line with the group's ambition of dominating the media space in Uganda and the region.

"The road ahead requires us to dominate. It’s a milestone to launch the next radio and it will help us to be the leading multi-media house in East Africa," Baguma said.
