VIDEO: Comedian King Kong MC succumbs to malaria

City comedian and MC, Hassan Lumu alias King kong has died this Sunday morning following a short spell with Malaria.

King Kong was pronounced dead at a clinic in Kisansa, Kanyanya where he had been admitted with Malaria since Friday.

According to Bill Kainerugaba, a close friend cum caretaker to King Kong, the deceased developed a fever on Eid (Friday) and was rushed to the clinic where he was checked in and admitted. “He had a very high temperature,” he said.

“Two days later, the doctors tell us we have tried all we can and have failed, they pronounced him dead,” Kainerugaba said.

Meanwhile Bill can not rule out after effects of the nasty accident King Kong suffered three years ago when he broke most of his bones and was even pronounced dead.

“He (King Kong) has been complaining of pain in the limbs, before his death, he had taken a whole week without walking. He has had problems ever since that accident,” he said.

“As we talk now, he has been taken to Mulago for postmortem and we shall proceed with burial arrangements,” he added.

Comedian King Kong rose to fame about four years ago, his comedic laced dance moves made Ugandans fall in love with him.

He was featured in Eddy Kenzo’s Maria Roza and Big Eye’s Tusansanya videos. However, following a nasty accident, King Kong’s blossoming career suffered.

The comedian could no longer perform at night as his eyes were affected by stage lights, he soon also lost his job at Galaxy FM.
