‎In a statement signed by UBOS executive director Dr Chris Mukiza and read by the Principal Public Relations Officer, Didacus Okoth, the bureau said it will release the Uganda Business Inquiry report on May 21, followed by the Uganda Harmonized Indicator Survey reports and the Baseline Education Census report later this month.

‎The Bureau explained that the report will provide analysis on sectors such as agriculture, tourism and services, and their contribution to the national economy.

‎UBOS also confirmed that it will release the Uganda Harmonized Indicator Survey reports covering the period between 2021 and 2025, with a strong focus on agricultural productivity at household and institutional level.

‎UBOS said the surveys gathered information on crops, land use, farm inputs, machinery, technology and production practices from both smallholder and large-scale farmers.

‎“We visit these farms and establish the kind of activity they are involved in, the kind of inputs, equipment, machinery and technology they are applying in the production process,” it said.

‎The Bureau added that the reports would provide extensive statistical information required for planning and policy formulation.

‎The bureau further announced that the Baseline Education Census report will be released on May 28 after completion of data validation processes.

‎The census covered all levels of education across the country, including primary, secondary, tertiary and university institutions in both government and private sectors.

‎“This report has undergone all the processes of data validation by experts, and it is an inclusive report of all levels of education in Uganda,” UBOS said.

‎The education census was conducted jointly with the Ministry of Education and Sports and was launched by the Education Minister and First Lady, Janet Museveni, in Jinja.

‎UBOS said the reports are being prepared in line with international statistical standards guided by United Nations principles on official statistics.

‎UBOS also urged researchers, policymakers and the public to rely on official statistics in public discourse and planning.

‎“I think it is very important that people who discuss issues of national importance seek official statistics and make very good use of them,”

‎The bureau noted that several key reports have already been released this year, including the Labour Market Survey Report, the National Human Resource Survey and the Uganda Malaria Indicator Survey.
