Kabaka reassures subjects in Zoom address

The Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, has addressed his subjects through Zoom, giving them hope that his situation is not alarming and that he will return to his kingdom soon.

This follows public demands to know his whereabouts despite the Buganda Premier’s continues information about his health.

For some time now, the Kabaka of Buganda has been out of the public eye due to his health condition.

Rumours have been circulating about his health, especially on social media.

But his address has dispelled many of the rumours as he appeared on Zoom and spoke to the people of Buganda

The Kabaka explained that his absence was on his doctors' instructions and that his condition is not worrying as he is set to return home soon.

The Kabaka says he is aware of what is happening in his kingdom and is following it closely, thanking those who have not strayed from tradition during these challenging times.

He also appreciated the Buganda Prime Minister Charles Peter Mayiga and his ministers for managing the kingdom administration well in his absence.

"We thank the Katikkiro and everyone who is involved in the kingdom administration for steering the wheel during this period,’’ the Kabaka said.

Although the Kabaka did not specify his exact location, Buganda was last informed that he is in Namibia.

The Katikkiro has been updating Buganda on the king's condition, but every time he spoke, it stirred emotions among the people, with the most recent update being given at the Buganda Lukiiko.

The Kabaka’s address is expected to calm the hearts of the people of Buganda, especially those on social media who have been demanding for his whereabouts.
