It has been nearly a decade since the Supreme Court directed the government to implement electoral reforms.

Herbert Burora fell out with the regime over his crtical views especially against the Speaker of Parliament leading to his arrest earlier this year.

These reforms, aimed at improving transparency and fairness in Uganda’s electoral system, come as the 2026 general elections approach.
