The victory marked Gomba's first win of the campaign after opening their Masengere Group campaign with a goalless draw against Busiro.
The result lifted the team to four points and revived hopes of securing a record sixth Masaza Cup title.
The hosts made a blistering start, scoring twice within the opening 25 minutes. Alfred Sebunya broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute before Robert Sewanyana doubled Gomba's advantage just two minutes later to put the home side firmly in control.
Although Ssese pulled one goal back later in the match, Gomba held on to claim all three points in front of their jubilant home supporters.
Fans praised not only the victory but also the quality of football displayed by the team, saying Gomba finally produced the attractive, possession-based style they had been eager to see.
"The team didn't just win and score goals; they played beautiful football. The passing, movement and confidence on the ball were impressive. From what we have seen against Busiro and today, we believe this could be our year to win the trophy," some supporters said.
The victory leaves Gomba second in the Masengere Group with four points, behind leaders Kyagwe, who have six points. The group also comprises Busiro, Mawokota, Ssese and Bulemeezi.
First assistant coach David Nono Sozi attributed the victory to the unity within the team's technical bench and playing squad.
"I'm very happy because I fulfilled the promise I made to our supporters after the Busiro match. I told them we would win at home, and today we have delivered. Victories are achieved through teamwork, and the unity within our camp has made this possible," Sozi said.
He also rallied supporters to travel with the team for next Sunday's away fixture against Mawokota.
"Next Sunday we face Mawokota away, and I call upon all Gomba fans to come and support us because we are going there for another three points," he added.
Gomba team chairperson Jane Namatovu thanked supporters for standing firmly behind the team, saying their unwavering backing had played a vital role in the victory.
"Our fans truly love this team. Thank you for your continued support. We are delighted with today's win, but I encourage you not to stop backing the team. Whatever support you can offer, please continue because next Sunday we need you again as we travel to face Mawokota," she said.
Gomba will now turn their attention to next Sunday's away encounter against Mawokota at Buwama as they continue their pursuit of a record sixth Buganda Masaza Cup title.
