SSP Kasigire noted that discussions focused on harmonizing the routes to be used by Kyagulanyi’s convoy, while Major General Byanyima reaffirmed the neutrality of security forces and their commitment to maintaining law and order throughout the campaign period.

Initially, NUP representatives proposed two venues—Kalungi and Lwabiyata sub-counties—for the rally.

Security officials, however, advised that only one location host the event to minimize the risk of disorder. After deliberations, it was unanimously agreed that Kalungi Playground would host the rally.

The agreed route for Kyagulanyi’s convoy will pass through Kakooge, Kasiso, and Kakora before arriving at Kalungi Playground.

The same route will be used for the exit after the rally. Organizers were advised to ensure strict adherence to law and order before, during, and after the event.

Stakeholders expressed optimism that the agreed arrangements will guarantee peaceful campaign activities in Nakasongola on Friday.
