VAR: Kenzo equaliser against Rema, offside

By | October 25, 2019

Three days ago, Eddy Kenzo returned home atop a vehicle with his award lifted to the skies, for all to see, including Rema.

Behind him, a bevy of dirty and clean Boda boda men combined followed, honking like they were hired (well maybe they were), and twisting their butts on those bikes with well-sequenced acrobatics. They literally owned the busy Entebbe road, while motorists and onlookers watched in a cocktail of excitement and pique.

Kenzo spread his arms out, in the near rainy weather of Entebbe Uganda, threw his head at the back, while Khalifah Aganaga admired the award he brought from the USA. I bet Kenzo was shouting in his mind: “Uganda Gavument, where are you? Rema where are you? Do you all see this?

In the midst of this entire episode that was broadcast live by certain media outlets, Cartoonist Ogon, a friend of mine texted in a WhatsApp group we share: EQUALISER! And then splashed a picture of Kenzo arms across like Ugandan jesus, with his entourage enjoying the fruits of riding in a rowdy convoy, all brought together for reasons far away from the award Kenzo obtained.

Just before we proceed, it is also important to note that Kenzo did not proceed to Kibuli Mosque.

Well, as much as the artiste and his entourage wanted all of us to believe that the triumphant entry had everything to do with the award he received in USA, ney, our VAR system shows that the singer wanted to send a message to those who don’t like him, and those who had left his life.

It is more like anha…  you are gonna miss this. This message is mostly for those who went to pick him up at Entebbe when he returned with the BET award the other time. Rema was among!

Kenzo’s award is significant, yes, but it was not enough to provide him a grand entry! The award he obtained from the USA was a small event, where the main guests were Kenya’s comedian Eric Omondi and Uganda’s Anita Fabiola (I hope Zari sees this).

The award comes at good times for a heartbroken Kenzo and indeed he milked his feelings while pushing this award in our eyes. He also dedicated the award to those who stood with him during the ‘hard times’ of Rema and Hamza.

This was the very basis that informed his fans to mount a guard of honor at Entebbe and carry him through the Entebbe road stretch like a golden calf, while they non-intentionally sent a message to his ex whom they think her only achievement so far was getting a man with a strange jacket!

It is true, Kenzo scored an equalizer against Rema in the dying embers of the game, but again he was coming from an offside position. Yet as well, there were a number of fouls committed in the build-up to the goal.

Therefore, VAR check- No Goal!  The match is over, Kenzo can wait for the return leg ( also literally).
