The Kibuku district Resident District Commissioner Ms. Juliet Najjuma Senkoole has implored people of Kibuku to be patriotic by electing focused leaders like President Yoweri Museveni.

She said residents should shun opposition leaders whose ideological orientation doesn’t suit that of the ruling NRM government if development is to be realized.

She noted that very soon Kirika sub-county and other sub counties without electricity will be connected.

She advised youth and women to desist from wasting time gossiping in trading centres but rather take the advantage of the prevailing peace and government programmes such as UWEP and YLP to involve themselves in income generating activities.

She appealed to parents to venture in education saying government is setting up a regional industrial park in Tirinyi town council which will provide employment and skills to all the locals regardless of their political lineage.

The RDC made this remarks this afternoon in Kaamu City Resort Hotel in Kirika subcounty, Kibuku district during the official launching of Alfasan activities in Kibuku district.

Alfasan Uganda is a leading manufacturer of veterinary pharmaceuticals and other animal health products for Farmers in Uganda and Africa at large.

Dr. Stephen Birungi, the director Alfasan Uganda Ltd, said Alfasan is a private limited liability company, which produces both human and animal drugs and its located at Namanve Industrial Park.

He says the factory serves Uganda and 11 other countries in East and Central Africa, including Rwanda, Kenya, Burundi, DR Congo, Tanzania and South Sudan.

Birungi noted that Kibuku districs is one of the 10 districts that Alfasan intends to work with livestock farmers in commercialization of farmer enterprises so that there is business sense inculcated into their operations, irrespective of whether they are small-, medium- or large-scale farmers with the ultimate goal of improving production and productivity.

‘’In a country in which 80% of the people depend on agriculture, and the majority of farmers are livestock owners, the project will have a substantial effect on the entire agricultural production chain as healthier livestock produce more meat, eggs and milk for the family and for cash income’’

He said this proramme will be implemented with the help of faith based organizations like churches, mosques so as to improve the living standard of Kibuku people whom he says are poverty stricken with house hold per capita standing at 117 dollars.

Rev. George Wycliffe Wandera, the Archdeacon Kibuku archdeaconry, applauded Alfasan and pledged total support.

He said as a faith based organization its their cardinal role to sensitize Christians on developmental programmes.

He said wealthy Christians can generously pay tithe every Sundays thus development of the church and its projects.
