UPL: KCCA FC beat Express FC to win Kampala derby

Defending champions, KCCA FC moved closer to the table summit when they beat Express FC to win Kampala bragging rights in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on Wednesday.

The Kasasiro boys took the lead only 13 minutes into the game, thanks to a Sadat Anaku shot from 25 yards to send their fans into frenzy in a game played at Bombo military stadium.

Five minutes later, KCCA FC was at it again when resurgent veteran forward, Mike Mutyaba tapped in an Erisa Ssekisambu cross to make it 2-o nil for the Lugogo based side.

The defending champions took the lead beyond reach when a 72nd Mustafa Kiiza freekick was brushed by Muzamiru Mutyaba before the ball met Express defender Muhammad Yiga who connected in his own net for KCCA FC’s third goal.

The hosts, however, got a consolation thanks to Frank Kalanda who converted from the spot after Frank Ssenyondo had been fouled in the 18-yard box.

The win sent KCCA FC to 5th on 19 points, 14 off table leaders Vipers but the latter has a superior number of games.

Police run riot against Tooro

Police FC on Wednesday registered their biggest win so far this season when they run riot against struggling Tooro United in another StarTimes Uganda Premier League game.

The cops two goals in either half to see off the struggling side from Western Uganda.

Ben Ocen, Musa Matovu and a Samson Kigozi brace were enough for the cops to detain Tooro United in the Uganda Premier League to ensure they moved to 8 points earned so far , despite remaining second from bottom on the 16 team log.
