"People Power won't back anyone in 2021, we want to take power"

The spokesperson of People Power pressure group Joel Ssenyonyi has dismissed reports that the outfit will back another candidate for the 2021 presidential elections.

Ssenyonyi made the statements during an event to unveil a country-wide coordination team for People Power at Magere, Wakiso District, ahead of the 2021 political activities.

“I hear people out there, some are saying on social media that people power wont compete and that it will back so and so for the presidential elections. This is not true. We have the president here with us. People Power will take power in 2021 and the president (Bobi Wine) is here,” Ssenyonyi said amidst ululation.

“People Power has a spokesperson who can speak, Hon Kyagulanyi can speak very well too and we don’t need anyone to speak for us,” he added.
