The expo, organised under the station's agriculture programme Tulime Tulunde hosted by Ismael Ssembatya, will take place on July 25 and 26 at the UMA Show Grounds in Kampala. Entry to the event is free.
The exhibition will bring together farmers, agribusiness entrepreneurs, financial institutions, agricultural experts, technology providers, input suppliers and innovators from across the country to exchange knowledge, showcase products and services, and build new business partnerships.
Organisers say the event is intended to support Uganda's agriculture sector, which remains the backbone of the economy, employing the majority of the population and contributing significantly to exports, food security and household incomes.
Speaking ahead of the expo, Sanyuka TV Brand Manager Josephine Nnaggayi said the initiative was designed to demonstrate that farming can be a profitable business while helping farmers overcome challenges through access to information and practical solutions.
"We organised this expo to create awareness that people can build wealth through farming and to show how they can overcome the challenges they face by bringing practical solutions closer to them. We also want to tell the stories of farmers whose methods have worked because those experiences inspire others," Nnaggayi said.
She said successful farming requires patience, consistency and continuous learning.
"We are bringing together services that farmers need every day. Financial institutions will guide farmers on accessing agricultural financing, experts will demonstrate value addition, and organisations will provide practical knowledge that helps farmers grow sustainable businesses," she said.
The expo will also feature government agencies, including the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA), which will offer guidance on business formalisation, record keeping and tax compliance for farmers seeking to commercialise their enterprises.
"Many farmers hesitate to formalise or market their businesses because they are unsure about regulatory processes. Through this expo, they will have the opportunity to receive accurate information, ask questions and understand the support available to help them grow," Nnaggayi said.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to attend expert panel discussions focusing on modern farming techniques, mechanisation, agribusiness, value addition and sustainable agricultural growth.
Among the featured speakers are Brian Natwijuka, Managing Director of Robran Holdings Ltd; Ismail Nsubuga, Director of Conc Feed International; Mathias Assiimwe, Product Development Manager at Kubota; and John Paul Mubba, Technical Sales Assistant and Marketing Officer at Urban Farmer Uganda Livestock Solutions Ltd.
Organisers say the discussions are intended to provide practical knowledge that farmers can immediately apply to improve productivity and profitability.
Beyond the learning sessions, the expo will serve as a marketplace where farmers, processors, equipment suppliers, financial institutions and buyers can establish business relationships across the agricultural value chain.
Sanyuka TV says businesses with agricultural products, machinery, technologies and services will have an opportunity to showcase their innovations and connect directly with potential customers and partners.
Over the years, Tulime Tulunde has become one of Uganda's leading agricultural television programmes, providing farmers with information on crop production, livestock farming, poultry, fisheries, beekeeping, agribusiness and value addition. The expo extends that mission by creating a physical platform for interaction, networking and knowledge sharing.
