President Museveni, who is also the commander in chief of the armed forces has promoted Itungo Rwakishaija to the rank of Brigadier General and consequently appointed as the new chief of staff of the UPDF air force.
He replaces Brigadier General David Gonyi who has been named Commandant of the Senior Command and Staff College in Kimaka to replace Brigadier General Michael Kabango.
Brig Kabango has been sent to the Joint Staff Human Resource Management department for redeployment.
The changes have also seen Colonel Kenneth Shilling appointed as the Director of Human Resource Management in the UPDF Air Force while Brigadier General Emanuel Kazahura has been appointed acting Commandant of the Uganda Rapid Deployment Capability (URDC) in Jinja.
