The Rotaract Club of Kigo Seven Lakes Golf marked a significant milestone on Friday 10th July 2026 as Bamutya Trevor Brill was officially installed as the club's third President during a colourful ceremony held at Fairway Hotel, ushering in a new Rotary year filled with ambition, innovation, and renewed commitment to community service.
Chartered in 2024, the Rotaract Club of Kigo Seven Lakes Golf has quickly established itself as one of the fastest-growing and most impactful clubs in District 9214. Its remarkable journey reached new heights earlier this year when it was crowned Club of the Year at the 101st District Conference and Assembly (DCA), a testament to its outstanding service, vibrant membership, and innovative approach to Rotary.
The installation ceremony celebrated not only a leadership transition but also the club's continued growth. In a show of its thriving membership culture, the club proudly inducted 22 new Rotaractors, reinforcing its commitment to attracting, nurturing, and retaining young leaders passionate about creating positive change.
Gracing the occasion as Chief Guest was Sanjay Rughani, CEO and Managing Director Standard Chartered Bank who applauded the club's achievements and challenged members to remain steadfast in serving their communities. Addressing the gathering, he encouraged young people to embrace Rotary as a platform for leadership, service, and personal growth, urging them to inspire others to join the movement and contribute towards building stronger and more compassionate communities.
Under the leadership of President Trevor Bamutya Brill, the club unveiled an ambitious service agenda centred on two flagship community projects that seek to address critical challenges in education, healthcare, and inclusion.
The first, their signature project the Ubuntu Project will focus on Wisdom Hub Inclusive Primary School in Mpigi District, where children with special needs & disabilities learn alongside their peers in an inclusive environment. While the school has championed inclusive education, it continues to face shortages of assistive equipment, learning materials, classroom resources, and accessible infrastructure. Through the Ubuntu Project, the club aims to provide the tools and facilities needed to ensure every child has an equal opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
The second flagship initiative, the Musota Project, named after President Trevor’s family name ‘Musota’ will be implemented at Nabitovu Primary School in Iganga District. The project seeks to improve learning conditions by addressing inadequate sanitation facilities, limited scholastic materials, and high school dropout rates, particularly among girls. It will also extend support to Muira Health Centre, a Rotary-supported facility that provides free healthcare but faces shortages of essential medicines and medical supplies. Together, these interventions are expected to strengthen both education and healthcare while restoring hope to the surrounding community.
To successfully implement these transformative projects, the club is seeking to raise UGX 20 million through partnerships, sponsorships, and community support. Every contribution will directly impact the lives of children, families, and communities, demonstrating Rotary's enduring commitment to service above self.
As the club embarks on a new chapter, members and guests celebrated a shared vision of sustained growth, impactful service, and innovative leadership. The installation reflected the spirit that has defined the Rotaract Club of Kigo Seven Lakes Golf since its inception, a young, vibrant club determined to transform communities while inspiring the next generation of leaders.
