NRM's Namayanja Urges Parents to Prioritise Education as Nakaseke School Celebrates PLE Success

The Deputy Secretary General of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), Rose Namayanja, has urged parents to prioritise their children’s education by ensuring they remain in school and have the necessary scholastic materials, describing education as the surest path to a better future.

Namayanja made the remarks while presiding over a ceremony at Butiikwa Project Primary School in Kiwoko Town Council, Nakaseke District, which emerged as the best-performing government primary school in the district in the 2025 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), producing more than 90 candidates in Division One.

She encouraged parents not to allow financial challenges to derail their children's education, noting that investing in education ultimately benefits families and communities.

“I also struggled to get an education. I sold maize by the roadside to raise school fees, but today I am the Deputy Secretary General of the NRM. Whatever challenges you are facing should not stop your child from achieving a better future. Never give up on educating your children,” Namayanja said.

Through the Rose Namayanja Foundation (RNF), Namayanja donated a cow and a trophy to the school in recognition of its exceptional academic performance.

She also applauded the teachers for their commitment and encouraged them to maintain high standards of professionalism despite the challenges associated with the teaching profession.

“These gifts are meant to appreciate your dedication. However, this trophy will be reclaimed by the District Education Officer before the release of the 2026 PLE results because it is a rotating award that will be presented to the next best-performing school,” she said.
