PLU Diaspora Chapter Donates  to New Mothers at Entebbe Regional Referral Hospital

The Chairperson of the PLU USA Chapter Mr. Ronnie Kananura accompanied by the coordinator diaspora affairs, Mr Steven Rutasharara have led a delegation of Ugandan diaspora members in donating essential hampers to new mothers at Entebbe Regional Referral Hospital on Monday.

The team was warmly received by the hospital’s top management, led by Hospital Director Dr. John Bosco Nsubuga .

During a meeting that followed, the delegation and hospital officials discussed potential areas of cooperation between the PLU Diaspora Chapters and the hospital’s outreach programmes in Greater Wakiso and Luwero districts.

The meeting was also attended by Senior Hospital Administrator Richard Tumwesigye, Principal Nursing Officer Roselyn Mutonyi  Walimbwa, Assistant Principal Nursing Officer Barbara Magoba , and Hospital Administrator Christopher Ogwal Oling.

In a notable gesture, the hospital administration officially named the street stretching from the medical stores to the oxygen plant “MK Street,” in recognition of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s immense contributions to the nation.

The delegation also planted trees within the hospital grounds as a living symbol to commemorate Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s 52nd birthday. The donation and tree-planting initiative form part of a series of activities organised by the PLU Diaspora Chapter to honour the General’s birthday while giving back to communities in Uganda.
