The morning began with aerobics sessions and brief remarks before participants embarked on a run through Adjumani Town. The event later concluded with a breakfast gathering at Bucolic I Roundabout.

District officials and PLU leaders jointly coordinated the activity, with Chief Administrative Officer James Ocen Andrew praising the collaboration between local leadership and the community.

“We appreciate this collaboration between leadership and the community. It reflects unity and shared purpose in our district,” he said.

Education stakeholders also took part in the event, with Asiku James, proprietor of Mother Theresa Preparatory Nursery and Primary School, attending alongside learners. He said such engagements are important in shaping values among young people.

“It is important for children to be part of such activities. It builds discipline, teamwork, and awareness of community life,” he said.

PLU district mobiliser Akuku Ap Richard highlighted the strong grassroots participation reflected in the turnout.

“The turnout shows strong mobilization and commitment from our members at all levels. We are building a united structure,” he said.

District general secretary Joseph Anyovi pointed to improved coordination within the movement as a factor behind the event’s success.

“Today’s event reflects good coordination among our leaders and members. We continue to strengthen our presence in the district through peaceful and organized activities,” he said.

Youth leaders also used the platform to express their support, with district youth representative Marian Asienzo saying such events inspire young people.

“As youth, we emulate and get inspiration from Gen. Muhoozi. Such events motivate us to stay active and united,” she said.

Organisers described the run as a patriotic gesture in solidarity with Muhoozi, noting that similar activities are being held in different parts of the country to mark the occasion.

They added that beyond celebration, the initiative is intended to promote fitness, discipline, and stronger community engagement across Adjumani District.
