House of Zakah, in partnership with Salam Charity and Iqra Foundation, is set to launch the construction of a seven-classroom block at Kishuro Muslim Primary School in Isingiro District on April 10th, 2026.
The project is in memory of the late Dr AA Kaliisa, founder of House of Zakat and Waqfu Uganda, and chairman of Salam Charity Uganda.
The project, which will also include a library and computer lab, is estimated to cost about Shs500 million.
According to Hajj Matovu from House of Zakat, the western region was chosen for the project due to Dr Kaliisa's roots, and Kishuro Muslim Primary School was selected for its proximity to Aisha Girls' School to facilitate future transitions for girls.
Hajj Karim Kaliisa, MD of Salam TV and Salam Charity, expressed appreciation for the initiative and pledged Salam Charity's full support.
"We're inviting all people from Western Uganda and worldwide to be part of this moment in memory of the late Dr A.A Kaliisa," he said.
