MultiChoice Uganda has been honored with three accolades at the Public Relations Association of Uganda (PRAU) Excellence Awards, including the top award for Best Event and Experiential Campaign for the MultiChoice at 30 celebration.
The recognition was announced during the 9th edition of the PRAU Awards held at Protea Hotel in Kampala.
Held under the theme “Recognizing Innovation and Impact in Public Relations,” the ceremony brought together communication professionals, corporate leaders, government officials, media practitioners, and experts from related fields such as marketing and advertising.
MultiChoice Uganda’s flagship win was powered by the strength and storytelling behind its 30-year journey in the entertainment industry. The MultiChoice at 30 event was celebrated for its powerful blend of history, customer appreciation, and future-focused narratives—an approach that clearly illustrated the brand's legacy and its continued commitment to deliver value.
In addition to the top accolade, the team secured two runner-up positions in the Best Internal Communications Campaign and Best CSR and ESG Campaign categories.
Rinaldi Jamugisa, PR and Communications Manager at MultiChoice Uganda, said the awards reflect the dedication of a team committed to delivering creative and impactful work.
“This recognition means a lot to us because it affirms the hard work the team has put in throughout the year. Every campaign demanded precision, creativity and focus, and seeing it pay off builds us for even more challenges. We exist to enrich lives for everyone who gives us a chance, and we plan to keep showing up with work that speaks to their needs. We remain committed to supporting and training local storytellers and giving our audiences experiences that add value to their everyday lives.”
Jamugisa encouraged young professionals and emerging creatives to stay consistent and embrace experimentation:
“Great ideas grow when you keep sharpening them. If there is anything this win teaches, it is that progress comes from showing up and choosing to go again even when the path feels steep.”
PRAU President Irene Nakasiita applauded MultiChoice Uganda and other winners for elevating industry standards.
“This year’s winners delivered concepts that pushed communication practice forward. In this year’s edition, we are not just celebrating winners, but innovators who have redefined what is possible in our profession through creative concepts that continue to prove that strategic communication is a powerful driver of trust, progress and transformation.”
The Chargé d’Affaires at the South African High Commission, Solly Sebola, who served as Chief Guest, congratulated the winners and commended PRAU for its role in promoting excellence.
He encouraged the association to explore collaboration opportunities with the High Commission to enhance visibility for both countries through PR.
This year’s PRAU Excellence Awards recognized organizations and individuals shaping Uganda’s communication landscape. Thirteen winners were named across categories including media relations, digital communication, CSR, crisis communication and corporate communication.
A Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Ms. Sarah Kagingo for her remarkable contribution to the growth of public relations in Uganda.
