The Bishop of Mukono Diocese, Rt. Rev. Enos Kitto Kagodo, has lauded the founders of private educational institutions in Uganda for fostering a competitive environment that has significantly improved education standards in the country.
On Sunday morning, Bishop Kagodo officiated the commissioning and laying of the foundation stone for a new lower-primary block at Kwagalakwe Day and Boarding Primary School.
During the ceremony, he also graduated nursery learners and confirmed 30 new members into the Anglican faith.
Addressing the newly confirmed Christians, Bishop Kagodo urged them to be exemplary in their conduct, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a positive Christian image.
He further encouraged them to engage in community service, including promoting environmental awareness during the holidays.
The Bishop praised Jonathan Ntulume Kabooba and his wife Sylvia, founders of Kwagalakwe Schools, for their unwavering dedication to God, their learners, and the broader community.
He commended their recognition of God as the cornerstone of their development and encouraged them to continue serving with the same spirit of commitment.
Quoting Psalm 126:1‑6, Bishop Kagodo reminded the congregation to trust in God’s promises and remain resilient in the face of challenges, assuring them that perseverance leads to success. “God is the only one who restores the lost and completes whatever He starts,” he added.
The Archdeacon of Seeta, Rev. Can. Edward Balamaze Kironde, urged parents to continue guiding and supporting their children after confirmation to ensure they mature spiritually and apply the lessons learned in their daily lives.
The ceremony also featured remarks from the chief guest, Minister of Social Services in the Office of the Nnaabagereka, Cotilda Nakatte Kikomeko, who praised Ntulume for his creativity and tireless efforts in transforming the lives of countless children through education.
Ssekiboobo Matovu Vincent Bintubizibu, Head of Kyaggwe County, highlighted that the developments at the school are a testament to God’s love and commended Ntulume for his progress-driven initiatives, urging others to serve selflessly and trust in God to fulfill their aspirations.
In his speech, Ntulume Kabooba emphasized that Kwagalakwe Schools have provided local children with access to quality education, sparing them long and often unsafe journeys to distant schools.
The event was attended by Mrs. Catherine Kitto, clergy and lay leaders from the Archdeaconry, Namasole Damali Nantongo Muganzi, Moses Ssenyonjo Kiyimba—first deputy Ssekiboobo and delegate at the Buganda Council, also founder of St. Mary’s College, Lugazi—as well as numerous parents and community members.
