The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, on Tuesday hosted a high-level joint meeting with Denmark’s Ambassador Signe Winding Albjerg and Netherlands Ambassador Frederieke Quispel at the Special Forces Command headquarters in Kampala.
General Kainerugaba described the engagement as both rare and significant, emphasising the value of collaboration and mutual understanding between Uganda and its international partners.
Speaking during the meeting, the CDF said Uganda’s foreign policy aligns closely with the approaches of Denmark and the Netherlands, a factor he said helps foster respectful, collaborative and locally-led partnerships.
“This meeting is a powerful symbol of solidarity. It reaffirms that the most enduring progress is achieved through shared responsibility and concerted efforts,” he said.
Ambassadors Albjerg and Quispel thanked the CDF for the opportunity to meet and commended the strong bilateral ties between their countries and Uganda.
Both envoys reaffirmed Denmark’s and the Netherlands’ commitment to deepening cooperation across multiple sectors, including security and development support.
The discussions underscored the importance of international collaboration in advancing Uganda’s development priorities, supporting security initiatives and contributing to regional stability.
General Kainerugaba’s meeting with the two ambassadors reflects Uganda’s continued efforts to strengthen diplomatic and defence partnerships with key international actors, with officials highlighting the long-term value of cooperative and mutually beneficial engagement.
