Police Recover Abandoned Rifle After Suspected Inside Job at Wakiso Welding Firm
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Racheal Kawala, the gun was discovered in Nkowe Village, Kaliti Parish, Mende Subcounty, where guards from Fountain Security had been deployed to protect Kham Resort.

Police in Wakiso District are investigating a suspected inside job after recovering a rifle allegedly abandoned by private security guards linked to a theft at a local welding and brickmaking company.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Racheal Kawala, the gun was discovered in Nkowe Village, Kaliti Parish, Mende Subcounty, where guards from Fountain Security had been deployed to protect Kham Resort.

Preliminary findings indicate that on November 17, unidentified individuals stole welding machines, grinders and electrical wires from the company. Later, a police patrol team intercepted two unknown suspects carrying the stolen property three welding machines, two grinders and wires but the suspects fled, abandoning the items.

Investigators now suspect that the private security guards on duty may have orchestrated the theft and later abandoned their rifle and uniforms in their room before disappearing.
