Thousands of participants joined a vibrant birthday run featuring 21km, 10km, and 5km categories, symbolising unity, wellness, and the community values championed by the Omusinga.

The celebrations also featured a grand cultural ceremony with performances, speeches, and the formal unveiling of the Kingdom’s long-term development strategies.

Among the flagship initiatives in the five-year plan is the launch of the OBR Radio Station, intended as a central communication platform to strengthen community engagement and promote cultural identity.

“The radio station will enhance our communication flow and amplify messages of cultural heritage, peace, and development,” Baritazari said.

The plan also includes the creation of a one-stop cultural tourism village, aimed at preserving traditional practices, boosting community-based tourism, and stimulating local enterprise growth.

Government support for the Kingdom’s initiatives was pledged by Lt Joe Walusimbi, Resident District Commissioner for Kasese, who represented President Museveni at the event.

“Government appreciates the Kingdom’s efforts towards development, peace, and unity. We shall continue working together for the betterment of our communities,” Walusimbi said, urging subjects to rally behind the projects to strengthen unity, socio-economic stability, and lasting peace.

The coronation and birthday celebrations, coupled with the strategic plan launch, underscored the Kingdom’s commitment to cultural resilience and inclusive development across the Rwenzori region.
