Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate Nathan Nandala Mafabi on Monday pledged to implement targeted development reforms in West Nile, promising to improve healthcare, education, and economic opportunities if elected.

Launching his campaign in Dzaipi Town Council, Adjumani District, Mafabi outlined specific plans to address what he described as long-standing gaps in public services. He said his administration would prioritise equitable access to social services and ensure that government resources benefit ordinary Ugandans.

“No Ugandan should be left behind. Everyone deserves equal access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunity, regardless of where they are born,” Mafabi said.

Mafabi proposed redirecting government funds currently spent on political campaigns, including billboards and promotional materials, toward community development projects. He said the money could be used to build clinics, improve schools, and create jobs for youth in the region.

“The resources invested in advertising could be transformed into clinics, schools, or jobs for our youth,” he said.

With the January 15 polls approaching, Mafabi urged voters to evaluate leaders based on service delivery and fairness. He emphasised reforms aimed at reducing social and economic inequalities, including greater access to public education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.

“The West Nile region has potential to grow and prosper. We need leaders who invest in the people, not just themselves,” Mafabi said, calling on citizens to participate actively in shaping their future.
