Mayiga said the tournament promotes Buganda’s fifth major pillar — unity — fostering peace and cooperation within the kingdom.

“To everyone who has followed the Masaza Cup since 2014, we can all agree that a spirit of unity and togetherness has continued to grow,” he said.

He also explained that this year’s final could not be held at the Mandela National Stadium (Namboole) due to renovations ahead of the upcoming Africa Cup games.

Nakivubo Stadium, which has been newly refurbished, was chosen to accommodate the large crowds expected at the finals.

The Katikkiro urged all attendees to maintain peace and discipline during the match to ensure the event is enjoyed harmoniously by everyone.
