Anticipation is building up among the people of West Nile as they gear up to welcome President Yoweri Museveni to the interland of the region.
In Arua city minister of state for Finance in charge of investments Evelyn Anite is leading the mobilization as she moves from street to street, ghetto to ghetto.
The president resumes his campaigns today in Nebbi before proceeding to Zombo .
Throughout Friday afternoon the suburbs of Arua city came to life as the Minister of state for Finance in charge of investments danced and mingled with the NRM supporters, as they geared up for the arrival of party presidential candidate.
Anite was joined by the West Nile mobilizers for Museveni, as the ecstatic crowd pledged to vote for Museveni on the premise that he returned peace to the region, connected electricity and is championing the fight against poverty through programs such as the Parish Development Model.
Koboko municipality mayor Sanya Kirk added that the people of West Nile consider the president’s campaign in the region as a give back for the peace, job and leadership opportunities that he has given them .
“As a region, our talking point is we need all to come and welcome the president as away of appreciating him."
The NRM leaders in the region also want to improve on the 67 percent that their candidate got in the 2021 elections to atleast 93 percent in the 2026 Presidential elections.
The female councilor for Baza ward in Arua city Nuzuria Gutu said that the Parish Development Model has changed their lives, and this is why they will entrust Museveni with another five year term in office as the President.
However the LC1 and twos are calling for the president to look into increasing their exgratia emoluments on top of the current Ten thousand shillings they receive each month.
