The National Identification and Registration Authority — NIRA has cautioned the public that only 24 days are left for the ongoing mass registration exercise taking place at various parishes across the country.

According to the Authority’s Public Relations Officer, Claire Ollama, over 3 million national identification cards have so far been produced and dispatched to different districts.

Ollama further notes that once the registration phase is completed, NIRA will embark on the second phase which will focus on mass collection of the printed IDs to ensure that every registered citizen receives their card in time.

Ollama has further urged Ugandans who have not yet registered or updated their details to take advantage of the remaining days to avoid missing out.
