Speaking on NBS TV’s Breakfast Meeting, Melvin Count, Head of Streaming at Next Media, explained that the new MTN AfroMobile bundles are designed to give users a seamless, affordable experience without eating into their regular data.
“When you purchase a bundle that includes both the subscription and data, anything you stream on AfroMobile will be deducted from that bundle,” Melvin explained. “Your regular data for emails and other services remains untouched.”
The bundles are available in flexible options to suit different user needs:
UGX 1,000 for a daily bundle
UGX 4,000 for a weekly bundle
UGX 10,000 for a monthly bundle
These bundles are only for MTN Uganda customers, and can be activated directly from the AfroMobile app, where users can also explore extended options, including three-month plans — all without having to dial USSD codes or navigate external menus.
“One of the biggest barriers to access is data costs,” Melvin noted. “At AfroMobile, we figured the best way to address this was by partnering with network providers to offer a package that includes both data and a subscription to the platform.”
This innovation positions AfroMobile as more than just a content platform — it’s a local tech solution responding to real user challenges. With MTN on board, AfroMobile becomes more accessible to Ugandans across the country, offering news, music, live TV, podcasts, and entertainment from Uganda’s leading broadcasters and creators — all in one place, and now at a fraction of the data cost.
