Sheema Municipality Member of Parliament Dickson Kateshumbwa on Saturday hosted a meeting of National Resistance Movement (NRM) delegates from across Sheema District, who unanimously endorsed Speaker of Parliament Anita Among to contest for the position of Second NRM National Vice Chairperson (Female).

The delegates are meeting at Kateshumbwa’s home, where the mood was buoyant and the endorsement passed without dissent.

Speaker Among, who is widely expected to seek re-election to her Bukedea Woman MP seat in 2026, is also angling for a stronger foothold within the NRM’s top leadership.

After the endorsement, the delegates and party supporters were scheduled to converge at Sheema playground for a public rally.
