PLU Chief Mobiliser Confirms Peaceful Demonstration at German Embassy
The demonstration is in response to allegations that the German Ambassador to Uganda, Mathias Schauer, has been involved in supporting subversive activities in the country.

The Chief Mobiliser of the Patriotic League Uganda, Michael Mawanda, has confirmed plans for a peaceful and energetic demonstration at the German Embassy in Kampala on June 5th.

The demonstration is in response to allegations that the German Ambassador to Uganda, Mathias Schauer, has been involved in supporting subversive activities in the country.

Speaking to Nile Post at Parliament, Mawanda, who is also the Igara East legislator, said the demonstration is a clear signal to the German envoy to keep his focus on representing his country rather than interfering in Uganda's internal affairs.

"It's unfortunate that this very ambassador had similar issues in Ethiopia," Mawanda said.

"We assured Ugandans in Germany that their peaceful demonstration will have no implications on their stay in Germany," Mawanda said.

The planned demonstration highlights growing concerns about foreign interference in Uganda's internal affairs.

Mawanda's comments suggest that the Patriotic League Uganda is determined to hold Amb Schauer accountable for his actions and ensure that he respects the country's sovereignty.

The demonstration is expected to be a peaceful and energetic expression of the Ugandan people's concerns, and it remains to be seen how the German Embassy will respond to the planned protest.
