However, the President’s visit comes at a time when residents in the Buganda region are grappling with several pressing issues.

These include widespread land grabbing, youth unemployment, unstable electricity supply, theft, and concerns over service delivery.

Many residents have voiced frustration over what they perceive as slow or uneven implementation of government programs, including the PDM.

President Museveni’s tour of Buganda follows similar visits to other regions, including Bunyoro, Tooro, and the Elgon sub-region.

According to the Office of the President, these visits are intended to provide the Head of State with a firsthand understanding of the progress, bottlenecks, and opportunities within the PDM framework.

The tour is expected to last several days, with key engagements, including town hall-style meetings, site visits, and on-spot evaluations of ongoing projects supported through the PDM.

The Parish Development Model, launched in 2022, is a flagship government strategy designed to drive inclusive economic transformation by targeting the parish as the lowest economic planning unit.

The initiative seeks to uplift households from subsistence to money economy through community-level empowerment, improved access to credit, and enhanced service delivery.
