Leaders in Namayingo say PDM is showing great impact.
The PDM is a government strategy aimed at eradicating poverty and fostering socio-economic transformation in Uganda by focusing on the parish as the lowest administrative and operational hub for planning and development. It is designed to deliver inclusive and sustainable development by addressing issues of production, financial inclusion, and service delivery at the grassroots level.
President Museveni has always emphasized wealth creation during his Parish Development Model tours by using the four-acre model, in which one acre is used for growing high-value crops like coffee, another for food for domestic use, a third acre for growing fruits, and a fourth acre for growing pasture for dairy cattle, then in the backyard a farmer rears poultry, piggery, and fish farming for those near the swamps.
President Museveni further revealed how through his wealth creation message in the 1960s, managed to transform the lives of the people of Ankole and now they are living a prosperous life.
He advised that farmers with small pieces of land should focus on the four-acre model type of farming to make quick and high returns.
The three-day tour which commenced on Monday, November 18th, 2024 is under the theme: “Securing Your Future Through Wealth Creation and Shared Prosperity” and it aims to address regional challenges and promote economic transformation.
