Global Investors to Convene in Uganda for EAIF 2025 to Accelerate Energy Access

The government has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing energy access and sustainability ahead of the Energy Access Investment Forum (EAIF) 2025, which will bring together investors and decision-makers in the decentralized renewable energy (DRE) sector.
Uganda’s Minister for Energy and Mineral Development, Hon. Dr. Ruth Nankabirwa, emphasized the country’s dedication to energy access and sustainability, noting the significance of hosting the forum.
“We are proud to serve as the Patron for EAIF 2025. This forum presents a unique opportunity to engage in the global conversation on energy access, decarbonization, and climate action. Let us join forces to drive impactful solutions for the future of energy,” she said.
State Minister for Energy, Hon. Okasai Sodranoius Opolot, highlighted the forum’s role in attracting investment and collaboration.
“EAIF 2025 is a key milestone in accelerating energy access and investment in Africa. This is a crucial platform where we can collaborate with global leaders and investors to unlock sustainable energy solutions for our communities. Together, we can power the future,” he said.
This year marks a decade of driving renewable energy investment, with EAIF playing a critical role in catalyzing partnerships in the DRE sector.
David Lecoque, CEO of the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE), underscored the forum’s impact on global energy transformation.
“EAIF 2025 marks a decade of catalyzing investments and partnerships in the DRE sector. This forum is more than just an event it is a crucial meeting point where key stakeholders unite to drive real change. By bringing together investors, businesses, and policymakers, we are accelerating energy access and supporting sustainable development across Africa and beyond,” Lecoque said.
The forum will feature matchmaking sessions, interactive discussions, and an exhibition showcasing both local and international companies.
Attendees will also participate in workshops and networking receptions on the final day.
EAIF 2025 has secured strong partnerships with major global organizations, including UNDP, the Africa Minigrids Program, Energy Catalyst, IFC (World Bank Group), ADEME, ZE-GEN, and CEEW. Other key partners include the African Development Bank (AfDB), ADA, ComAp, ENGIE Energy Access, Schneider Electric, EnGreen, ennos, Shell Foundation, Zimpertec, SkySails, Turbulent Hydro, Victron Energy, and Welight.
As Africa’s premier energy investment forum, EAIF 2025 is set to drive new financing and partnerships to electrify underserved communities worldwide. The engagement will take place in Kampala, Uganda, from April 8-10, 2025, marking the 10th edition of the forum.
Organized by the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE) and supported by GET.invest, the annual forum will bring together over 1,000 participants at Speke Resort Munyonyo.
Held under the patronage of Uganda’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, the event aims to accelerate investment in electrification for underserved communities globally.
