“When you look at this small building built by parents to enable teachers to stay near the school, we must first thank our people for their efforts and the teachers who have been working in such conditions.

Their resilience has borne fruit, and we are now providing them with a self-contained shelter,” Ntambi said.

During the launch, Ntambi warned contractors against delivering substandard work and called on locals to monitor the project.

“I want to clearly tell these contractors that if you think you’re going to deliver shoddy work, you are in the wrong place. I will not allow you to get paid, and we will ensure you are blacklisted in the district,” Ntambi warned.

He added that the government is committed to ensuring service delivery in Mubende because the district has long supported the government.

“We all know that our people have supported this government, and the only way to reward them is by addressing their challenges,” Ntambi emphasised.

Locals welcomed the aid to their school, acknowledging the challenges teachers face due to inadequate shelter. “As you can see, this house we built is the only one at the school, but we are happy that today they have launched the construction of better houses for the teachers,” said a local resident.

In Kiyuni Sub-County, the district launched the construction of a two-classroom block at Kiboyo Primary School worth Shs 91 million. The contract has been awarded to Sakal Investments Limited, with a completion period of five months.

Geoffrey Mawa, the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer for Mubende, called for positive results. “We all know that these classrooms are very important because we have a challenge of congestion in classes, but we are doing what is necessary to resolve the matter,” Mawa said.
