Mr Kasasira and his family was returning from the village inKashari, Mbarara District, when they were involved in an accident.

Former Daily Monitor security reporter Risdel Kasasira has been killed on Masaka Road following an accident, Police have confirmed

Mr Kasasira and his family were returning from the village when his wife Charlotte Nshimire, who was behind the wheels, lost control of their Toyota Fielder and plunged into a swamp - according to Ms Divina Kemiyingo, a witness.

ASP Twaha Kasirye, the Greater Masaka Police spokesperson, said the vehicle Reg No UBK 851Y was speeding and that it was submerged following the crash.

Mr Kasasira, 45, died on the spot, but his wife and children Aretha Ntone, 5, and Elerio Nowangye, 3, have been taken to Lyantonde Hospital for treatment.

Mr Kasasira was averse to driving.

The Friday crash occurred at around 1pm at Kalagala Village along Lyantonde -Kashagama Road.
