Man electrocuted in Iganga

A 35-year-old only identified as Kavuma, a resident of Jinja, has  been electrocuted after placing a metallic pole on the electric line during construction of  second floor of a building at Saaza road in Iganga municipality.

According to eye witnesses, the deceased left his residential area in Jinja in the morning to come and finish the work he just got two days from a friend.

Diana Nandawula, the Busoga East Police spokepserson  confirmed the incident noting that investigations into the matter are ongoing.

The Iganga Resident District Commissioner Sadala Wandera  urged  engineers and  owners of  buildings to always follow protective measures during the construction process.

Wandera said that he will engage the technical people for more details regarding this new building.

Police detectives and UMEME engineers have since inspected the scene of crime and the deceased's body  later was taken to Iganga hospital’s mortuary, awaiting postmortem.
