Mr Robert Kalumba moves on from KCCA to URA

Robert Kalumba has changed his work coordinates from City Hall to Nakawa

If there were any plans to tax Congolese rumba music imports into the country or even on the airwaves, that should be out of the windows by now - the Taxman has appointed Robert Kalumba as its Public and Corporate Affairs manager.

Mr Kalumba has already packed his Congolese music CDs and discography paraphernalia at City Hall and left the deputy KCCA publicist job, taking a swanky air-conditioned office in Nakawa.

Mr Kalumba cut his teeth at Daily Monitor as a society journalist and columnist under then Features Editor Carol Beyanga while moonlighting with Kamwokya-based bulk short-messaging firm, SMS Media.

Panel-beaten into maturity by Ms Beyanga, he was in February 2012 taken into KCCA's communication department by the Authority's first executive director Jennifer Musisi.

While he has lived for years talking about Ndombolo and Fally Ipupa's dance moves before taking to defending KCCA's policies like a mother defends her brat, Kalumba will now talk Efris and numbers.

A father of two boys, Isaiah and Sean, Kalumba met his wife Irene while a student in London, UK, where he did time as a kitchen porter in Haldini Hotel to raise fees and sustenance money.

Sources say Mr Kalumba also takes to Kampala's tallest building his passion for English club Liverpool, President Museveni and his son Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
